Field Trip - Gray Wildlife Park

We spent the day at the Gray Wildlife Park on 9/22. The girls learned that all the animals in the wildlife park are there for one of three reasons; injury, abandonment, or man dependent. We talked a little bit about what man dependent means and the reasons why we should not take in or feed wildlife from our homes.

We spent time viewing all the exhibits from deer to a bald eagle. The girls were most impressed with the bobcats. The red fox came out of its den for a rare glimpse during our visit. However, the gray fox didn't show his face while we were there.

Besides a quick thunderstorm and rain that came through our area for about ten minutes of our day, we had a wonderful learning day. Everything from habitats to meeting an animals basic needs was discussed.
