Todays science activity was reviewing how to measure mass and volume. The girls first had to pick some rocks and measure the mass using our equal arm balance.
The second part of their activity was to figure out how they could measure the volume of objects that are irregular shapes, such as their rocks. They realized the easiest way was to take a known amount of water and add the rocks to it, thus leaving no air space in between the irregular shape, and find the difference between the beginning volume and the ending volume.
I know. Isn't that cool?
ReplyDeleteYour science posts are so much more simple than mine, haha. I get carried away!
Are your girls doing the same grades in any of their subjects?
And what science are you using? =)
They do the same grade level in all subjects except English (Grammar and Writing). We use BJU Science 5 and we have a great time with it.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until they get at the level of your kids... I read your science progress and it is awesome, yes ours is very simple in comparison, LOL.
