I'm Thrilled!

We have struggled one too many times when I ask to give me a noun, adjective, adverb, etc. and I get the "deer in the headlights" look.

Beginning of the year conversation between me and one of the girls:
"The girls run to the store. Tell me what the subject of this sentence is?"
"Run."
"Run? What is a subject usually?"
"A noun."
"Okay, and what is a noun?"
"A person, place, thing, or idea."
"So run, does that fit your definition?"
"No."

We would go on like this forever, but finally it has clicked in their heads. While doing Diamante poems there was no reviewing what a noun or adjective were they just gave me them without even thinking about it. I love it, persistant hard work has paid off once again!
