We spent Thursday morning quilting with a church group and another homeschool family. The quilts were being made to give to foster children in Maine so they have something to bring from home to home as they are led through the system. Hearing from some foster children, who are now adopted, these quilts that they are given are one of the few possessions that actually have and can call their own. One, whom is now a teenager, was given a quilt as a young child and still has the quilt and sleeps with it to this day. It was a great project and the girls really enjoyed learning how to quilt.
